Film of the police searching Damian Green’s Parliamentary
office has been released this afternoon, with Dominic
Grieve stressing the footage documents “a dark day for
democracy”.
The office of the Shadow Immigration Minister was searched
by Metropolitan Police officers on Thursday 27th November.
Dominic Grieve, the Shadow Home Secretary, stressed
Damian was “guilty only of doing his job”:
"MPs are not above the law. But they must be allowed
to bring the Government to account and to put into the
public domain information which may be uncomfortable
for Ministers."
The footage released today shows Andrew Mackay, Senior
Parliamentary and Political Adviser to David Cameron,
entering Damian Green’s office as police officers carry
out their search.
